Funding is provided for energy-efficient construction and work on buildings that don't presently meet the requirements of the OIB Directive. It is available to all companies, entrepreneurial organisations, associations, and confessional/religious institutions may also submit proposals.

Funding under the model refurbishment programme is made available to all natural and legal persons carrying out commercial activities. Public institutions, local authorities, accommodation establishments with more than ten beds, contractors, associations and religious institutions may also apply for funding. Funding is provided for comprehensive refurbishment projects on buildings used for business purposes and public buildings. Thes include: measures to improve thermal insulation, measures for the use of renewable energy sources, and measures to increase energy efficiency.

Funding for LED systems and lighting control systems for indoor applications

Funding is available for LED systems with a minimum connected load of 500 watts for lighting existing buildings used for business purposes. The prerequisite is the replacement of conventional luminaires and bulbs with LED systems. If an efficient lighting control system is installed at the same time, there is an additional bonus.

Subsidies for the production of biomethane, process gas from biomass, second-generation biofuels is available to all companies and other business organisations. In addition, associations and confessional/religious bodies may also submit proposals.

Funding measures relating to hazardous waste

Where is this support available:

Funding is offered to cover measures for preventing, recycling, thermally treating and other forms of material treatment of hazardous wastes. Examples of eligible installations (parts): treatment plants for hazardous waste, and plant components for a process changeover to avoid hazardous waste. In addition to the plant, transport planning and assembly are also recognised as eligible costs.

Subsidies for district heating connections

Where is this support available:

All system components for a district heating connection with an output of ≥ 400 kWth that are within your property boundary and owned by you are eligible for support. Examples of eligible plant (parts):
transfer station, integration into the heating system, pipelines, pumps, valves, boiler, and excavation works. In addition to the plant and parts, planning and installation are also recognised as eligible costs.

Funding natural gas-combined heat and power generation

Support funds for natural gas cogeneration are available to all companies and other entrepreneurial organisations. Highly efficient combined heat and power plants based on natural or liquid gas for the combined generation of electricity and heat are eligible for funding. The heat produced should cover existing heat demand up to 100kW and the electricity produced must predominantly be used internally.
