CYRKL is an on-line platform – secondary raw materials exchange – that aims to help recover materials, which have already fulfilled their primary function, but are still utilizable and suitable for further processing.

The exchange enables companies and municipalities to offer or demand secondary materials on-line. Users can see in real time where the material is available and vice versa where it is needed. They can easily filter not only by type of material, but also by other criteria, such as distance, etc.

CYRKL is used primarily for plastics and construction materials, which are the most common types of waste generated; however, also other types of materials can be offered there – for instance: paper, metals, textile, wood, electric and electronic waste, and organic waste.

It is made up of two main sections:

  • Catalogue of secondary raw materials – arising from the recycling of waste materials during construction, demolition or reconstruction of a building

These two sections are supplemented by:

  • An overview of legislative documents, and related standards and testing procedures
  • A glossary of terms
  • A list of relevant organisations (business associations, certification bodies, recycling centres, construction companies, etc.)

The development and operation of the catalogue is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

INCIEN is a non-profit, non-governmental organization focusing on innovative environmental management. Together with our partners we work on projects that allow the transition from a linear towards a circular system. INCIEN is formed by a quickly growing team of Czech creative professionals. The organization core consists of alumni from the well-known Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

INCIEN’s mission is to inform, educate and interpret best practices and co-create pilot projects that strive for a transition from a linear to a circular economy. In collaboration with companies, municipalities, the governmental sector, NGOs and other stakeholders, INCIEN participates in many different projects every year. We know what opportunities the circular economy brings, and that its main building block is a change of mindset, as well as an effective and well functioning co-creation and collaboration between main stakeholders.
