Totally new print regime

Imagination is an independent creative, advertising and design agency. It specialises in creating first-class campaigns for leading international brands. Printing is a key part of its business and, as such, management wanted more efficient solutions to boost performance and bring costs down. In view of introducing managed print services (MPS), the company invited Canon to carry out an audit of what would be needed.

After a monitoring period, which observed Imagination's project teams and how existing devices were being used, a number of recommended changes took place. The number of printers were reduced from 90 to 30, and print jobs were better stored and tracked using print and scan management solutions. And a 'my print anywhere' feature was installed, which allows users to print on any device on the network and, after authenticating with their individual PIN, they can select and print only the jobs they actually need.

Printing behaviour has vastly improved thanks to the MPS and best practices encouraged within the system. As a result, printed-related costs have substantially reduced. Rationalising unnecessary printing and the number of devices resulted in a 50 % waste reduction company-wide.
