We are thrilled to announce the successful Kick-Off Meeting of the EPIC – Enhancing Packaging Innovation Ecosystems for Interregional Collaboration project!

Funded under the I3 Instrument, EPIC is set to strengthen innovation ecosystems in less developed regions, empowering stakeholders to lead the transition towards sustainable packaging in response to environmental and regulatory challenges outlined by the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.

During the meeting, our consortium—comprising partners covering the entire packaging value chain—aligned on key priorities, collaboration strategies, and upcoming activities. EPIC will engage stakeholders across four key categories:
🔹 Regional Innovation Ecosystem
🔹 Public Authorities
🔹 Civil Society
🔹 Value Chain

Through capacity building, skill alignment, and interregional collaboration, EPIC will unlock innovation opportunities and drive sustainable investment in the packaging sector.

We want to thank the #PackagingCluster for the great organisation, warm welcome and the opportunity to visit the DFactory Barcelona and Leitat Technological Center.

We would also like to thank our guests for coming and sharing experiences and tips on implementing the project: Erik Hengmith from the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), Tomislav Pinter from DG REGIO, Emma Vendrell ACCIÓ, and Etienne Graf from Packaging Valley Germany e. V.

A huge thank you to all partners for their dedication and commitment!

We look forward to an exciting journey ahead 🌍♻️
