CIBUS5G is an industrial research project in digital technologies, closely connected to Industry 4.0, whose main goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of the food sector, with a particular focus on SMEs. Two companies from the sector, Leche Celta and Rosales Avícola, are taking part as early adopters, helping to pilot and validate the developments from the very beginning.

The initiative revolves around the creation of a collaborative platform that integrates a set of cutting-edge technologies, including Computer Vision, 5G, Edge Computing, IoT data capture, and advanced analytics powered by Artificial Intelligence under the framework of Manufacturing Intelligence. Through this combination, the project seeks to generate new knowledge and translate it into practical applications that will drive efficiency, flexibility, and adaptability across a wide range of food industry use cases.

CIBUS5G is designed to provide the sector with advanced digital tools that optimize processes and improve the overall competitiveness of companies, contributing decisively to the digital transformation of the industry. Its consortium brings together both food companies (Leche Celta and Rosales Avícola) and technology providers (Optare Solutions, ASM Soft, and Logicmelt Technologies), with the support of the Galician Food Cluster (Clusaga), which leads the project as applicant entity, and DIHGIGAL as collaborating partner.

By integrating these technologies into a single collaborative platform, the project aims to deliver a flexible and scalable solution capable of adapting to the diverse needs of companies in the food sector, thereby promoting greater efficiency and competitiveness.

CIBUS5G is funded through the 2024 call of the support programme for Innovative Business Groups (AEI) of the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, and is coordinated by the Galician Food Cluster (Clusaga).
