ADDTEX project, led by Tèxtils.CAT -  the Catalan cluster of advanced textile materials- published a best practices guide  in the field of training for the textile industry as a result of the activities of this European initiative.

The cluster, which prioritizes skills as one of its strategic pillars, has contributed to the development of this guide aimed at companies and educators. This activity is part of the Tèxtils.CAT Circular Hub, launched in September 2024 with the aim of facilitating advanced textile materials companies an easy way to access tools for driving the green transition, facilitating high-value connections and as a community to share best practices.

The guide compiles the shared experience of students and companies across Europe—some of them members of the cluster—with focus on the green transition, the digital transition, and the smart transition of the textile industry in Europe.

The ADDTEX project has created highly useful tools for training in these areas: an analysis of industrial and academic needs to drive these transitions, an open online course where these skills can be acquired and tested, the organization of hackathons to address business challenges, a specific methodology for training in these fields, and a practical case study (bootcamp) where this methodology and resources were applied, involving both students and companies.
